Frederick Lincoln Jr. is again elected mayor of Boston.

Lincoln (Faneuil Hall and Citizens Party), with 6,352, defeats Joseph Wightman, with 5,287, to again win election as mayor. He is inaugurated on January 5, 1863. During his next terms in office, he aggressively recruits for the Union army.
